MIKE5IVE
Documenting the people, places, and moments that shape culture — before they're forgotten,
Most people don't think about documentation until it's already too late — the interview that never got recorded, the show nobody has footage of. I try to catch things while they're happening, before someone has to reconstruct them from memory.

ABOUT
Mike 5ive is a journalist, photographer, filmmaker, radio host, and archivist based in New Orleans. He got his start photographing and interviewing independent artists before they had much of a platform, and the work has grown from there — profiles, event coverage, and oral history projects for artists, families, and institutions alike.
He hosts Bassmentality on WTUL 91.5 FM, a noncommercial freeform station, and writes for Antigravity Magazine. His interview list includes Saul Williams, Run the Jewels, Three 6 Mafia, Toro y Moi, and Kelly Moonstone. The Legacy Project and the Archive Subscription both grew out of the same realization: the most interesting part of a story is usually the thing nobody planned to record.
